Emilia Clarke’s role as Daenerys Targaryen in Game of Thrones included a number of sex scenes throughout the series, including a notable scene in the first season with Khal Drogo. Clarke has spoken about feeling uncomfortable and nervous filming the scenes early on in the series, but later coming to view them as important parts of her character’s story. Despite this, Clarke has also criticized the focus on nudity in the series, stating that it detracted from the overall message and themes of the show.
